L’Opercle és una estructura anatòmica calcària que funciona com una tapa que tenen molts grups de cargols marins. L’Opercle s’adjunta a la superfície superior del peu i en el seu estat més complet, serveix com una espècie de porta per tancar l’obertura de la closca quan es retreuen les parts toves de l’animal.
Es coneix comunament com "Ull de Shiva" o "Ull de Santa Llúcia".
Es diu que si en portes un afavoreixes la sort i mantens allunyat el mal d'ull.

Operculum is a corneous or calcareous anatomical structure like a trapdoor which exists in many groups of sea snails. The Operculum is attached to the upper surface of the foot and in its most complete state, it serves as a sort of "trapdoor" to close the aperture of the shell when the soft parts of the animal are retracted.
Operculum are commonly known as "Shiva's eye" or “Eye of Saint Lucia”.
Wearing one is said to keep the evil eye away and favour luck.
