L’Amazonita és una varietat de microclina, un feldspat ric en potassi, reconeixible pels seus delicats tons verds i blau turquesa. El seu color, únic i tan característic, és fruit de petites quantitats de plom presents en la seva estructura cristal·lina, combinades amb processos naturals d’irradiació al llarg de milions d’anys.
Els exemplars més apreciats provenen de jaciments com els dels Urals (Rússia), Colorado (Estats Units), Madagascar o el Brasil. Les seves vetes blanques, tan característiques, són completament naturals i fan que cada peça sigui irrepetible.
Durant el segle XVIII i XIX, alguns exploradors europeus van creure que aquesta pedra provenia de la conca del riu Amazones, i per això la van anomenar Amazonita. Amb el temps, els geòlegs van descobrir que no existeixen jaciments importants d’Amazonita a la regió de l’Amazones, però el nom es va mantenir.
També hi ha una altra teoria que relaciona la pedra amb les Amazones, les guerreres de la mitologia grega. Segons aquesta tradició, les amazones portaven pedres als seus escuts com a amulets de protecció i coratge. No hi ha proves arqueològiques que ho confirmin, però aquesta llegenda ha contribuït a reforçar el simbolisme de l’Amazonita com una pedra de força, independència i energia femenina.
L’Amazonita evoca dues imatges molt potents:
· La natura exuberant, l’aigua i el flux de la vida, pel seu vincle amb el riu Amazones.
· El coratge, la llibertat i la força femenina, per la seva associació amb les amazones mitològiques.
L’Amazonita no és una pedra de naixement però la podem trobar associada als signes del zodiac de Verge, Aquari i Àries.

Amazonite is a microcline variety, a potassium-rich feldspar, recognizable by its delicate green and turquoise blue tones. Its unique and characteristic color is the result of lead small amounts present in its crystalline structure, combined with natural irradiation processes over millions of years.
The most prized specimens come from deposits in the Urals (Russia), Colorado (United States), Madagascar or Brazil. Its characteristic white veins are completely natural and make each piece unique.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, some European explorers believed that this stone came from the Amazon River basin, and for this reason they called it Amazonite. Over time, geologists discovered that there are no significant Amazonite deposits in the Amazon region, but the name remained.
There is also another theory that links the stone to the Amazons, the warriors of Greek mythology. According to this tradition, the Amazons wore stones on their shields as amulets of protection and courage. There is no archaeological evidence to confirm this, but this legend has helped to reinforce the Amazonite symbolism as a stone of strength, independence and feminine energy.
Amazonite evokes two very powerful images:
· Exuberant nature, water and the flow of life, due to its link to the Amazon River.
· Courage, freedom and feminine strength, due to its association with the mythological Amazons.
Amazonite is not a birthstone but we can find it associated with the zodiac signs of Virgo, Aquarius and Aries.
